El estudio contagio ha tenido épocas en las que, una parte de las ganancias de ciertos proyectos se invierte en pequeños juguetes coleccionables. Y nos referimos a una "inversión" debido a que  con el paso del tiempo, éstos juguetes pueden llegar a tener un valor superior al que se adquirió. Y en la oficina disfrutamos como niños pequeños cuando abrimos cada uno de ellos, ya que en algunos modelos de ellos, no se sabe cuál es el que te saldrá, por lo que hace más emocionante la misión.

Pero retomando el orígen de estos juguetitos, surgieron a mediados de la década de los años 90 en Hong Kong, cuando los artistas Michael Lau y Eric So, emplearon el soft vinyl (vinilo suave) para crear versiones limitadas de juguetes coleccionables dirigidos a un público adulto.

Dicho movimiento urbano recibió más tarde el nombre de art toy o vinyl toy, consiste en crear muñecos de entre 5 y 20 centímetros sobre una base blanca o negra.

Cuando se fue haciendo popular, se hizo también comercial, y grandes pintores, grafiteros, dibujantes de cómic e ilustradores empezaron a personalizarlos

Y claro, teníamos que captar la belleza de los materiales, los diseños y las formas.
